Track & Field Day
Emailed to parents:
On Thursday, May 23 we will be hosting our track meet day.
The track and field day is part of the Physical Education program at our school. As such, all students are expected to participate, with their participation being part of their P.E. grade. Students are expected to sign up for a minimum of four events. If students have questions about this they can talk to their P.E. teachers.
A schedule of events will be posted on the RJHS Website on the main menu. The times of the events will be followed as closely as possible, but do change due to various circumstances.
A complimentary lunch will be provided to RJHS students.
Students need to be at Victoria Park, the field by the hospital, by 8:30am. The first event begins at 8:40am. Grade 7 students will be assigned to a supervisor for the day who will help them know where and when to go to their selected events, but it is each students responsibility to be at the events they have signed up for.
Bus students can walk down to Victoria Park once they arrive at the school and will have plenty of time to walk back at the end of the day to catch their bus.
Students need to remain at Victoria Park until all the events for the day are finished. The day should end at approximately 2:30; we encourage students to stay and help clean up.
Spectators are asked to sit in the bleachers for all track events. When moving to the field events and jump pits, there is a path on the North side of VSP to move to the East fields. Spectators are not to be on the track or infield. They may access the east grass fields through the north gate, but need to maintain appropriate distances from the events.
Thank you in advance for your support of this event, it is a great experience for our students.
